Koko

(Sumber: Chocolate: Facts On Health and Nutrition For Educators and Health Professionals, Chocolate Manufacturers Association of the USA).
Gotu Kola (Pegaga)

Gotu Kola ada kala digelar food for the brain.

(Petikan kata: Christine Lewis, Acting Director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition's Office of Nutritional Products, Labeling and Dietary Supplements USA).

Not Barrack Obama but an Army Barrack at Port Dickson. Recently Defense Minister announce that the government will promote an army style stay at the former Port Dickson Army camp. I say this is a really niche market in the region to tap into. No other individual can do this other that the Government itself. By bringing the experience as a Military Personal to the public, I think there are many army wannabe out there that are dreaming to be an army since childhood. So this kind of Army Tourism packages can satisfied their long awaited dream.

So what are you dreaming to do if you can be at an Army camp ? Using a M16 or Drive a T72 Tank – Yes it can be done because the concept is like renting guns and armored cars for the public. Live in the nearby jungle with a survival kit and eating phyton – Maybe not. Actually the Idea have long been practices in Country such as Ukraine. In Ukraine, you can go to the military camp and rent weapon of mass destruction like these:

Type Price (USD)
2 flight on L-39 – 2000.00
Su-27UB – 11000.00
MiG-29UB – 9500.00
MI-8 (12 persons per hour) – 2000.00

Yes, you can fly military-type fighters and gunships. There is a cheaper option, for $8 you get to feel the burst of a Kalashnikov and for $180 you can fire a grenade launcher. Cool huh? Thousand of military fans out there now can turn
their military skills learn from years of reading the Military magazines into reality. Read some of the tourist reaction when using the military vehicle:

“It was great! I had never driven even a car, but today I drove a tank!” she said, emerging from the turret of the 1,200-horsepower monster.

You can get the info and prices about the Ukrainian Military tourism here, here and here.

Also read the original article about the Barrack stay in PD by Bernama.

“Barrack Stay” In PD Army Camp To Attract Tourists
SEREMBAN, 29 Mac (Bernama) — “Barrack Stay” or army style stay at the former Port Dickson army camp has become the latest attraction to draw tourists to the ‘Army Town’ of Port Dickson.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said staying at the army camp was among three elements promoted by the army town of Port Dickson to attract a niche market of tourists, including those from overseas.

“We have not reached a stage to allow tourists to go through a army style shooting experience like that practiced in some countries but we have started the first step towards introducing an army style stay,” he told reporters after a development committee meeting with Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan Monday.

The concept of renting guns and armoured cars for the public, introduced by countries like Vietnam and Ukraine, would be in cooperated in the “Barrack Stay” package soon.

He added that the Armed Forces museum in Port Dickson would be restored while a “boulevard” extended from the camp to the beach front.

We want to see the army town in Port Dickson to become as popular as the West Point Academy in the United States, he said.

– BERNAMAAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14324672191693890058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1263069329647120540.post-70467351817158704592010-04-04T00:50:00.000+08:002010-04-04T01:02:52.310+08:00Jelajah Port Dickson
Ana Raffali & Marhaens Jelajah Port Dickson

It tastes awesome if you cook it with black pepper or ginger and onion, with a very similar taste to lean beef but a lot tender. It was just that the ostrich satay I had was terrible. Maybe because very old meat was used, or the cook overcooked them*

After the meal and a brief rest, we decided to leave because it started to rain. But before that we fed all the remaining corn to the goats just next to the exit. They were super active and would run and jump around just to get to our food lol.
OK the visit seemed short but we actually spent a good 3 hours there. There was a crocodile feeding session which I didn’t show because it was shown twice in my previous trips to Langkawi and Sarawak. If you’re not a beach lover or not looking for a swim, PD Ostrich Show Farm is a nice place to visit especially for families.

P.D. The conclusion of my research was that everyone who visited Port Dickson before highly recommended PD Eating Point for their popular Western breakfast set.
Not wanting to take risk, we followed their advice and had the same breakfast at PD Eating Point just like they did.

This is the famous Western breakfast set at PD Eating Point, consisting of double sausages, double eggs, double toasts and some baked beans. You can choose between scrambled egg and fried egg, whichever you prefer more.
For the first day we had the fried egg set, and it was a nice breakfast. The portion was quite big as well, which is a good thing to help us stay full longer. By the way, this photo was taken using my 50mm lens, which came out nice and sharp.. Now compare it to the next photo taken with kit lens..

Here it is.. the one taken with kit lens.. notice the HUGE difference? Man, this really makes me wanna throw my kit lens away (which I already did by the way) If you are wondering, this was not our second round or someone else’s breakfast lol. It was just our breakfast for the second day of our trip.
See how good it was? We decided to return the next day to try scrambled egg version because it tasted so nice. Sorry but I couldn’t remember the price anymore but it was very reasonable so don’t worry.

Besides the Western breakfast set prepared by the coffee shop, some other food like roti canai, nasi lemak and noodles are also available. The nasi lemak seem like a big hit with the locals as well from what I noticed..
If you are planning a trip to Port Dickson soon and don’t know where to eat for breakfast.. I am going to join the bandwagon and recommend you PD Eating Point. And do come early because plenty of marine personnels and students have their breakfast here. The restaurant fills up very fast and you could hardly find a table for your own by then.

P.D. PDP plant was on commercial operation since January 1995 and is currently at its 14th year of operation. PDP is 75 per cent owned by Sime Darby and 25 per cent owned by Hypergentic Sdn Bhd, subsidiary company of Malakoff Corporation.

A 21-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to buy generating capacity and electricity. The existing term of the PPA is until January 2016 with provision for extension of the term for up to three additional periods of five years each.

PDP power plant is located on a 67-acre site in Tanjung Gemuk, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. The plant is equipped with four 110MW General Electric (USA) gas turbines. The power plant utilises natural gas as its primary fuel and diesel light distillate fuel which is directly piped from the Shell Refinery at Port Dickson as a secondary or back-up fuel.

The power plant is operating according to the ‘open cycle gas turbine mode’ and will supply electric power to TNB for peaking and emergency requirements. The plant has been incorporated with an Automatic Governor Control (AGC) which allows the TNB National Load Dispatch Center (NLDC) in Kuala Lumpur to directly control the output of the power plant according to varying load demands.

PDP is represented by an Executive Director and supported by 10 dedicated employees who manage the human resource, administration, commercial, finance and accounting functions of the company. The operations and maintenance function of the power plant is carried out by Sime Darby Operations & Maintenance (Sime Darby O&M)

Benchmarking against world standards, PDP, for the past 13 years has maintained very high plant availability of more than 99%, forced outage rate of less than 0.2% and commercial starting reliability of close to 100%. bumi yang berharga dikehendaki dunia ketika era kegemilangan industri di Eropah pada kurun ke 18 dengan pelbagai ciptaan dan penggunaannya.
